Description: This rescue play set includes a helicopter, 3 figures, and 2 accessories. I was the sole 3D designer for this project on a team including illustrators, teachers, and engineers. This sizeable project incudes a durable vehicle with multiple play zones, articulating parts, accessories, and a set of durable figures for the crew.
The illustrator and I worked to previsualize the interior and exterior play zones, making the most of a small space. Alongside teachers, I helped to add educational play value as I designed the details of the interior areas and refined the exterior styling. The engineering team and I worked in synch as we developed the 3D geometry of this complex helicopter. It includes an opening canopy, rotating blades, retractable winch, sliding side doors, rolling wheels, folding beds, and rear-facing hovercraft ramp hatch. All components fit together with unique, precise snap fits.
