Concept Design: Sketches and 3D pre-visualization
3D Design: Playset design, character design, art direction. Engineering-ready, safety tested CAD models.
Tools: ZBrush, 3dsMAX, FreeForm Plus, Wrap, Adobe Suite
Description: I was involved from concept to completion on this whimsical playset. I helped create the functional layout for the entire playset and later sculpted all the major parts including technically challenging areas such as the tree slide, elevator cart, tire swing, and the convex door on the first level which attaches to the large tree base. I also led the team in sculpting the articulated character models. After budget and timing concerns, the project rolled over into a second season. To complete the project on budget we removed some pieces with costly tooling (front door & tire swing), simplified the technically challenging wood grain, and cut one character.
